Use this guide when using a energy meter with the Deye inverter, this applies to single phase and 3-phase meters.
An extra cable needs to be installed when using an energy meter with the SkyBox.
A RS485 link run from the meter can be run in cat 5 or any twisted pair cable. Once at the SkyBox, run the cable directly into the Deye inverter by removing the faceplate. Fit off an RJ45 into the RS485 (8kw) or Meter (5kw) port using pin 4 and 5.
On the meter end 4 = B(13) and 5 = A(14)
Once this has been done, complete the following settings on the Deye
- On the inverter screen, press the gear in the op right
- Advanced Function
- Scroll to Page 2
- Tick - Ex_Meter for CT
- Tick - All the phases you have connected to the meter
- Meter - Select Eastron-3P (this can be changed by pressing the hardware down arrows, not the on-screen arrows)
If the connection is not done corectly, the inverter will make a loud beeping noise until the meter is connected correctly. When connected correctly, you will see readings on the load side.
