Generator FAQ when connected to a Victron inverter
My generator won't turn off automatically
If the generator doesn't turn off automatically, this is usually to do with a "run" condition still being met by the system. For example if you have multiple start conditions like overload, SOC, interval. It is possible that one might start the gen, but it will wait until all 3 are satisfied before turning off.
To check this, use your SkyBox screen or log into the remote console (here)
Settings > Generator Start/Stop > State
This will give you the reason as to why the gen is still running, the example above is running due to an inverter overload
Skybox with a Generator Bypass
Setting up a Skybox with a Generator Bypass:
1. Leave change over switch up when Skybox has a generator bypass. This will allow the generator to automatically charge skybox batteries if batteries become low. (i.e. Not enough solar coming in to charge them)
2. If the Skybox goes into an Error mode and is not working switch the change over switch down and this will allow the generator to override and supply the loads direct.
