There are a few reasons why the solar coming from an MPPT is not charging the batteries.
Check the following
- Battery wiring is correct, especially communications - read install manual for BSL or Pylontech. The MPPT won't charge if the BMS is not found
- Solar polarity is correct, if doing parallel strings - check polarity
- If the EasySolar is showing Solar: OFF - There is a batch of EasySolar GX 48/500o that came faulty from Victron, use the attached document.
I have an Error Code on the MPPT
First check this guide to determine the reason: https://www.victronenergy.com/live/mppt-error-codes#err_38_err_39_and_err_80_to_err_87_-_pv_input_shutdown
Solar voltage drops to 0V when i turn the DC isolator on
This occurs when there is a short circuit or incorrect polarity on the solar panels, this can be due to wear and tear or water ingress in roof top isolators. Check this first and then reconnect to MPPT, this can cause a follow up error of Error 82
I have Error 82
First, disconnect the solar panels and disconnect the battery, then follow the reset procedure described here: https://www.victronenergy.com/live/mppt_pv_short_relay_reset
